thumbnail_IMG_6521Last month, Tablespoon attended and spoke at Sage's Future for Partners event, which featured numerous updates focused on AI in Sage Intacct. Here's a quick look at the announcements that matter most for restaurant finance and accounting teams.

Sage Intacct Finance Intelligence Agent

Sage introduced the Finance Intelligence Agent for Intacct, which is an AI tool that lets users ask natural-language questions and receive insights routed through specialized agents. This continues Sage's push toward embedded AI, enabling faster analysis and decision-making within Sage Intacct. Early Access is open for the US & UK.

Global Collaboration with Sovos

Sage announced a new global collaboration with Sovos to simplify e-invoicing and tax compliance. The partnership embeds Sovos capabilities into Sage products, helping customers reduce compliance risk, stay aligned to fast-moving regulations, and accelerate cash flow.

Sage AI Trust Label

To support responsible AI adoption, Sage launched the AI Trust Label in the US and UK. The label provides transparency around how Sage's AI features work, including details on data usage, explainability, and auditability. It's meant to give finance teams confidence as more AI-driven capabilities roll out across the suite.

Why These Updates Matter for Restaurant Groups

Across all the announcements, a few themes stood out:

  1. AI is becoming embedded, not optional. Sage is moving toward agent-based AI across its products to improve insight and automation.
  2. Compliance is top-of-mind. The Sovos partnership reflects the growing global push toward digital tax and invoicing requirements.
  3. Transparency and trust are priorities. With more AI features on the way, the AI Trust Label signals a commitment to clarity and responsible use.

While part of the Tablespoon team was at Sage Future for Partners, the other half was at RFDC. With what Sage is coming out, it fits with the themes we saw at RFDC:

  1. Restaurant groups are still growing—strategically: Even with economic pressures, many groups are continuing to expand. But growth today requires sharper visibility, better planning, and tighter operational control.
  2. Technology and automation are no longer "nice to have: Operators are actively seeking ways to build a smarter tech stack that provides real-time insights, streamlines reporting, and automates routine tasks. The goal is simple: make faster, data-backed decisions without adding more manual effort.
  3. Doing more with less is the new standard: With labor challenges and cost pressures, restaurants are looking for solutions that help their teams accomplish more and ultimately improve the bottom-line. Efficiency isn't just helpful; it's essential.
